2007 WEEKEND TO END BREAST CANCER A HUGE SUCCESS!

Click HERE to watch the slideshow from our walk!

One Dream,
2 Days,
64 Kilometres,
Thousands of Walkers,
Millions of dollars raised.

Wow! What a weekend!

I can hardly believe we made it, a little sore, a bit blistered, a LOT tired, but we did it!

The Pink Panthers raised a total of over $13,500 for this year's Weekend to End Breast Cancer. Just a small part of the 5.1 MILLION dollars raised by the 2012 walkers in this years event.

Before the Weekend to End Breast Cancer existed, the BC Cancer Foundation was only ever able to donate $200,000 per year towards Breast Cancer research each year. And now from the first 3 years alone of doing the Weekend to End Breast Cancer they have been able to instead raise over $10.5 Million dollars!
Truly an amazing effort, and all because of your support and generous donations.

We DO make a difference and we WILL save lives. The Pink Panthers would like to thank you for all your donations, you are all HEROES!

The walk itself was an amazing journey that will touch our lives forever. So many new friends to meet, so many stories told along the way... and so many porta-potties! With a new route, (that apparently was 64 kilometres, not 60), and a lot more hills! It rained on day two, we kept dry with our plastic ponchos; and our spirits didn't dampen with the Hot Vancouver Firefighters along with us, walking in their suspenders...woo-hoo!

We were short one walker this year as Terri Poerch has the year off... with new baby Emily. But Mama, papa & Baby were there to cheer us on complete with signs! It was great to have them be there to still be a part of the team. Cheering squads from the Reimer family & David family were there in full force to lift our spirits just when we needed it most.

Whoever said that a Journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step was completely full of it. A journey like this begins and ends with the love, support and encouragement from all of you. It's what kept us plodding on when we thought we just couldn't do one more step.

The Pink Panthers are resting comfortably now, with pedicures to ease our tired feet, and smiles to remind us of our amazing accomplishment. At least until next year!

Please watch our You-tube slide-show click here to join us in our journey.

Thanks again for all your support
from the Pink Panthers,

THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC EVENT!

The 2nd Annual Comedy Night to End Breast Cancer was a huge success! With over 120 people attending this year's event, really great comedy, with awesome door prizes and silent auction items, and of course our now famous Pink Boobie Martini everyone had a fantastic time. The Pink Panthers were able to raise over $4000 to go towards our fundraising efforts. That is just fantastic!

The Pink Panthers would like to thank everyone who attended, the comedians and all those who worked so hard to make this event so fun! And OF COURSE we would especially like to thank all of our sponsors. Please see the list to the right and view our sponsors websites, and support them whenever you can.

I can't wait for next year's event! Now to start Training!

We're back for another year!

The “Pink Panthers” are a team of 4 friends banding together to fundraise and participate in The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. Our team goal is $10,000 but we can’t raise that without your help.
On August 17-19th, along with thousands of women and men we will walk 60 km in Vancouver and raise money to help support breast cancer research, education, and treatment at the BC Cancer Agency.

1 in 9 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Maybe someone in your life has been affected. It could be your mother, sister, wife, daughter, or a friend. The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is our chance to go the distance in the fight against this disease; it’s our chance to be a hero for someone we love or someone we may never even meet.

About the BC Cancer Foundation

Proceeds from The Weekend to End Breast Cancer will benefit the BC Cancer Foundation, an independent charitable organization which raises funds to support breakthrough research and compassionate care at the BC Cancer Agency, including its innovative new breast cancer research program using gene technology to develop personalized treatments built on the Agency’s unique strength in genome science and its province-wide cancer control system. The BC Cancer Agency is also dedicated to earlier diagnosis for breast cancer patients — a critical factor in improving survival. With cancer survival rates better than any other province in Canada, the BC Cancer Agency has become a model for cancer care and control around the world.
